Kindness from the Heart Card

I have been excited to share this card with you.  I played around and created this paper flower.  It is easy to create. This card is one of five projects we will be making for Stamp Camp this month.  I hope everyone locally will be able to join me next week for Stamp Camp.

MUKIBUG TIPS:

• Notice the Polka Dot embossing on the Regal Rose™ background cardstock and the flap of the envelope.  Both were easily created using the Big Shot™ and the Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder™.  See my Big Shot™ video HERE to show you how it works.
• For the flower, I used a 1" X 12" piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Cardstock™ and punched along one long edge with the Scallop Edge Punch™.  Then I ran the punched strip of paper through my Crimper several times to break down the fibers of the cardstock and make it more pliable.
• Punch a 1-1/4" Circle and cover it with strong adhesive like our Sticky Strip™.  With the sticky side of the circle up, begin adhering the flexible piece of 12" cardstock to the outside of the circle.  Continue going around the circle moving closer in to the center as you go.  The 12" strip will go around approximately two times.
• The small four petal flower was created using the Stampin' Up! Floral Fusion sizzlits die.
• Using the Paper Piercing Tool™ and the Mat Pack™, poke a hole through the small four petal flower and the center of your large flower (1-1/4" Circle). Our beautiful Filigree Brad™ was the perfect finishing touch.
• Notice I used the Scallop Edge Punch™ on both the flower's edge and the edge of the Very Vanilla™ Cardstock.

This is a simple card and yet it has such a nice wow with the flower.  It's even prettier than the picture shows.  Go ahead and try making some paper flowers.  I think you're going to really like this.

Baroque Motifs Card

From the ARCHIVES I found a simple and classic design which is always pleasing to the eye.  Using just three colors in this design has created a soft and elegant card.  BAROQUE MOTIFS™(113490) is one of my favorite stamp sets.  The vine stamp is so versatile and elegant.

I softly added the flower image in Soft Sky™Classic Ink (2008 In-Color, no longer available, Bashful Blue™ recommended).  Using several layers of the Basic Gray™ and Whisper White™ cardstock gently framed the stamped panels.  Another soft touch of Organdy Ribbon (now available, 5/8" Organza Whisper White Ribbon) tied to the smallest panel.

SWEETEST DAY EVER

YUM!  Wishing you the SWEETEST DAY EVER!  This is one of five projects we will be doing at January STAMP CAMP.  I love the SWEET TREAT CUPS™ on a card.  They are fun to design and and even more fun to receive!  We are also now offering a HEART TREAT CUP™ and STAMP SET PROMOTION, just in time for Valentines day.

The round cups fit perfectly inside the large flower from the PETAL PIZZAZZ™ stamp set (shown below).  Our 1-3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH™ creates the hole, and the self-adhesive lip on the Sweet Treat Cup holds the cup right in place.  Our FULL HEART PUNCH™(113693) punches the perfect heart to accommodate the heart shaped cups.  I used jelly beans in the cup for this card, but here's a list of 100 SWEET CUP IDEAS to fill your Sweet Treat Cups.  This list was created by Janet Wakeland, Sr. Director, Stampin; Up! I {LOVE} LOVE

Our new I {LOVE} LOVE JUMBO WHEEL™ is rolling love all over the place!  I really like using our Stampin' Up! Jumbo Wheels™ to create a FAST splash of color and texture over solid covered cardstock.  Rolling over cardstock has many times been a very "economical" way for me to create my own designer cardstock for all sorts of projects. I even used it right on the flap of the envelope so the recipient would get all excited about receiving something special before they even see the contents! :D  Fun, huh?

Our glittery enhanced SENDING LOVE SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER™ looks beautiful wrapped with a piece of VERY VANILLA 5/8" SATIN RIBBON™.

With all the action and sentiment on the outside of the card, I wanted to have a simple, quiet message of love on the inside.

BIG SHOT by Sizzix™, you get a beautiful little scalloped heart with tiny embossed hearts all over the surface.  Easy Peasy to crank out Valentine Hearts for all sorts of Valentines!

WHOO STOLE MY HEART?

Leadership™ earlier this month (one of the many perks of working with Stampin' Up!™ is all the FREE goodies your recieve).   Here is a sweet little valentine to share with whomever has stolen your heart.  Are you wondering how I punched the mini scalloped edges of the Whisper White™ cardstock?  I didn't, it is our SENDING LOVE NOTES HUGS™ cardstock offered in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Using the new SMALL HEART PUNCH™, I punched out two Bravo Burgundy™ hearts and tied them at the ends of some white crochet string, so they could dangle inside or outside the card.

The little owl is framed with two flowers punched out with the BOHO BLOSSOMS PUNCH™.  The owl was punched out with the 3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH™ and adhered to the two punched flowers. (Click on images to enlarge)

Journey

I was so inspired by the colors of fall in my area that I had to come home a stamp something.  I love the detail and quality of Stampin' Up!'s art work on their stamps.  I used markers, ink pads and sponges to create this look.  I stamped the tree stamp from Le Jardin Botanique in More Mustard ink pad,  Next, I used a Chocolate Chip marker and colored over the tree trunks.  Then I used the Really Rust and Bravo Burgundy markers to "tap" color onto the leaves of the tree.  This effect is so cool because it really gives the tree dimension and life.

Note: I tapped the long side of the brush end of the marker over the leaves.  Always remember to start with your lightest color and move to the darkest.  This will prevent your lighter colors from getting dark ink on them.

TIP-

Do you notice my "Label" tag is longer than the LABEL PUNCH?

You can make tags any length you want by cutting a strip of paper the width of your punch.  Slip the paper into the punch and before it goes all the way through to the other side, slip your finger in and make the paper come out the bottom of the punch.  When you punch, it will only punch the section of paper you still have inside the punch.  This can be done with ANY of our punches!  See picture below.

Composition Notebook Journals

When it's "Back-to-School" time, I stock up on the composition notebooks!  The prices are just right and I love to convert them into fun journals.

I used lots of my Retired Designer Series Papers to cover several composition notebooks. One sheet of 12" X 12" DSP will cover one journal as long as you use a strip to fill the gap to the binding.  I adhere the DSP to the cover with SNAIL adhesive and then cut the corners round with PAPER SNIPS.

The flower is made from the Daisy Flowers Bigz Die and the center is created using a "Build A Brad".  The BUILD-A-BRAD kit is so cool.  You can punch a 1/2" circle from anything and adhere it to the top of the brad with CRYSTAL EFFECTS adhesive and then add the half-dome plastic topper and you have a custom brad to compliment any design.

Live, Love & Laugh Circle Card

I really enjoy using the quality tools from Stampin' Up!.  Any job is easier if you have the right tools.  That is especially true even with paper crafting.  This card appears simple however I pulled out all the BIG paper cutting tools for this one.  The circle was created with the CIRCLE SCISSORS PLUS cutting tool.  The flower and butterfly were die cut using the BIG SHOT and the Melon Mambo strip was cut on the PAPER CUTTER.  It is a simple card with a little different twist . . . it is round.  The flower and butterfly are free swinging to give some movement.

Sweet Treat Halloween Card

This one was crazy.  I'm always trying to come up with something just a little bit different.  I had to figure out a way to utilize a sweet treat cup into a Halloween card.  This is what I came up with!  Enjoy this little VIDEO segment showing how to creatively incorporate the SWEET TREAT CUPS in your projects.

Beary Special Birthday Card

Our NEW Build-A-Bear products are ADORABLE!

I've used the little boy bear in this stamp set to make a cute little boy birthday card.  Using our cool Aqua Painter and a few drops of ink from the reinker bottles, I watercolored this little guys and brought him to life. I cut him out leaving about a 1/16" border of white.  Dimensionals (learn more) popped him right off the card.  What a great way to wish your little guy a "beary" happy birthday! Tip: the green half circle was a "petal" cut off one of the Bigz Petal Card Dies used in another project.

Thank You Kindly

I feel like you can never have too many little "thank you" gifts.  Here's a cute little bag of candy corn to let someone know you appreciate them.

I created the base of this bag with a 3" X 9 5/8" Soft Suede card stock.  I scored the strip at 4" from both ends.  The topper for the bag was created using the larger of the two scalloped circles on the Bigz Circle Scallops #2 die.  I scored across the center, using my Paper Cutter and a Score Blade, to allow it to fold easily over the bag.

Tip: holding the cello bag upright with the bag folded up around it, it stapled one staple to hold the package together.  This allowed me to put the topper on much easier.  I used the largest hole punch on the Crop A Dile to make the holes for my ribbon.  The ribbon is tied in a square knot.

The dazzling pumpkin was created by stamping two pumpkins.  One is stamped on Pumpkin Pie card stock and the other stamped on Kiwi Kiss (see below).  Both pumpkins are cut out with Paper Snips, however  the green only gets the stem cut off.  Adhere the green stem on top of the orange pumpkin.  Now you're ready to add your microbeads.  There's a couple of ways to add these beads.  I like to use a sticky permanent adhesive like SNAIL across the front of the entire pumpkin (or a Xyron machine with permanent adhesive).  Once the entire front surface is sticky, push it face down into a bath of microbeads.  Press firmly to get the beads smashed into the adhesive.  Pull your pumpkin out and and press down all over the surface to firmly attach those beads.  Rub any extra beads off the edges and there's your dazzling pumpkin!

I attached the pumpkin to the front of the bag using Dimensional foam adhesive.

Crazy for Curry

Wow is this In-Color® Crushed Curry a LOUD yellow or what???  I just dove right in and let it completely take over this card.  I'm not sure if this color is going to be able to be an "accent" color or not.  It's pretty strong!  None the less, it makes a wonderful (loud) statement about the Things I Love!  Mz. Curry is accompanied by Dusty Durango, Old Olive & Soft Suede.

Recycled STAPLES Sticky Pad Holder

I had fun getting everything ready for August Stamp Camp.  My favorite part is designing the projects. Here's one that I just love!  It's a little post-it note holder to carry in your car or purse.  And it's recycled which is really cool!

Recently Staples® had a great sale on some of their discontinued glossy heavy weight designer folders {$1.50 for pkg. 12}.  Seeing all that heavy card card stock at such a reduced price was just too much for me to pass up.  I bought several packages thinking there would be some way I would be able to use them with my Sizzix®  Hot Shot.  Well, I found a really cool way to use them, but it wasn't through the Hot Shot {YET}.

Everything on this post-it note holder is from Staples® with the exception of the night of navy ribbon tied around the regal style paper clip and the Designer Series Paper Scallop Envelope used on the inside.

On the sample shown below, I incorporated the score lines of the bottom of the folder.  For the Stamp Camp holders, I did not need to cut into those score lines.  I was able to cleanly cut 4 strips of the folder (2 front, 2 back) with out having the score lines.  The cuts were 3 1/2" X 11" and scored at 3", 3 1/2", 7", 7 1/2".  This allowed space for the 3X3 post-it note and the mini gel pen.

 

I've Missed You!

 

OK, It's been a really busy and hectic summer.  I'm sure several of you can relate to that quite well.  I'm so excited to be holding Stamp Camp this Friday, August 28.  I love making the journals out of school composition notebooks.  Now is a great time because they are on sale everywhere for "Back to School".  I got a great deal on some last year at Staples and am keeping my eye peeled for more great deals.

I'm also doing a cute little post-it not holder with a mini gel pen.  I know it's going to get really busy with all the school time running around.  A little 3X3 post-it note binder will be just the right thing to jot down all those quick "To Do" notes.

Littlest to the Goofiest
