OUR PUNCHES ARE THE BEST!
Let me share the steps to successfully using the BORDER and CORNER punches from Stampn' Up!™.
PINKING HEARTS CORNER (118072) & BORDER PUNCHES (117649)
used together to create beautiful square and rectangular borders.
There are specific measurements you HAVE TO USE with these punches to create a complete border around your paper. Here is a PINKING DIMENSION CHART with all the dimensions you will need to know when creating these borders.
Punch all four corners being sure your corner is pushed into the punch ALL THE WAY.
Now that all corners are punched, you'll use the straight edge punch to punch along the sides. Place the side of the paper in the punch, pushing it all the way up against the back "fence" of the punch, and align your previously punched corner EXACTLY on top of the silver corner image imprinted on the punch deck. Punch your straight edge. Continue down the edge of your paper making sure the straight edge of your paper is pushed back up against the back "fence" of the punch AND aligned EXACTLY over the silver imprinted pinking guide on the punch deck. DON'T PUNCH ALL THE WAY TO THE OTHER CORNER!
Your square or rectangle should look like this after using the corner and straight edge punches.
To finish up the last part of the straight edge punching, you will need to turn the punch over and look through the die, itself.
You will align NO LESS than two pinking teeth, of the die, up with previously punched pinking teeth.
You will be using this technique UNTIL you reach the diagonal edge from the, corner punched, corner. Make sure, when you align your paper in the pinking teeth of the die that they are COMPLETELY HIDDEN behind the metal die pinking teeth. Do you see, above, how the orange diagonal is NOT exactly aligned under the far left pinking tooth? That is the "margin of error" tooth that only you will know is there.
Can you see how the heart, on the last diagonal tooth, is NOT exactly perfect? That will happen, so don't fret, it's the "margin of error" heart that nobody will even notice.
See how it looks all finished. Only you and I know there MAY BE an off heart on each side. Most people will not even know it's there.
You will follow the same rules as above when using the SCALLOP TRIM PUNCH™(118402-FREE in SAB Promotion until March 31, 2010) and SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH™ (118870). The MEASUREMENTS will be different for this punch, here is a Download SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH DIMENSIONS for you to use as a guide. Here's a video tutorial to show you the steps.
HAPPY PUNCHING THOSE BEAUTIFUL BORDERS!
