Wow is this In-Color® Crushed Curry a LOUD yellow or what??? I just dove right in and let it completely take over this card. I'm not sure if this color is going to be able to be an "accent" color or not. It's pretty strong! None the less, it makes a wonderful (loud) statement about the Things I Love! Mz. Curry is accompanied by Dusty Durango, Old Olive & Soft Suede.
I enjoy a twist on the usual. Every now and then I like to create a card incorporating an envelope as part of the card instead of just the enclosure. Here's another project from August Stamp Camp using the new 2009-2010 In-Colors Soft Suede & Dusty Durrango to create a birthday card.
Sealing a Kraft envelope and then cutting it off at 5" and scallop punching the cut edge is what I did to create the pocket for this card. The insert is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" piece of Dusty Durrango card stock. The belly band is Soft Suede card stock cut at 1 1/2" X 11" and wrapped around the envelope.
The coordinating Dusty Durrango grosgrain ribbon accessorizes the band. Using the Circle Circus stamp set I created a little circle medallion punched out with a 1 1/4" circle punch. The little circle on the top is punched out with a 1/2" circle punch and then I added a coating of Crystal Effects to the small circle to give it a little shine. The birthday sentiments were from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

I had fun getting everything ready for August Stamp Camp. My favorite part is designing the projects. Here's one that I just love! It's a little post-it note holder to carry in your car or purse. And it's recycled which is really cool!
Recently Staples® had a great sale on some of their discontinued glossy heavy weight designer folders {$1.50 for pkg. 12}. Seeing all that heavy card card stock at such a reduced price was just too much for me to pass up. I bought several packages thinking there would be some way I would be able to use them with my Sizzix® Hot Shot. Well, I found a really cool way to use them, but it wasn't through the Hot Shot {YET}.
Everything on this post-it note holder is from Staples® with the exception of the night of navy ribbon tied around the regal style paper clip and the Designer Series Paper Scallop Envelope used on the inside.
On the sample shown below, I incorporated the score lines of the bottom of the folder. For the Stamp Camp holders, I did not need to cut into those score lines. I was able to cleanly cut 4 strips of the folder (2 front, 2 back) with out having the score lines. The cuts were 3 1/2" X 11" and scored at 3", 3 1/2", 7", 7 1/2". This allowed space for the 3X3 post-it note and the mini gel pen.
OK, It's been a really busy and hectic summer. I'm sure several of you can relate to that quite well. I'm so excited to be holding Stamp Camp this Friday, August 28. I love making the journals out of school composition notebooks. Now is a great time because they are on sale everywhere for "Back to School". I got a great deal on some last year at Staples and am keeping my eye peeled for more great deals.
I'm also doing a cute little post-it not holder with a mini gel pen. I know it's going to get really busy with all the school time running around. A little 3X3 post-it note binder will be just the right thing to jot down all those quick "To Do" notes.
